Dorothy H. Dean, Esq., M.S.W., received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Connecticut, her M.S.W. from Michigan State University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law. Ms. Dean was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1983 and to the California Bar in 1988. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in Colorado and California.
Ms. Dean began her legal career representing individuals and corporate defendants in products liability, premises liability and personal injury litigation with the Denver firm of Pryor, Carney and Johnson, P.C. Along with representing a number of Colorado and national companies, she was national litigation counsel for a major chain of child care centers. In 1988, Ms. Dean moved to California and joined the San Francisco office of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold where she focused her practice on products liability, catastrophic personal injury, premises liability and toxic tort defense. Her principal clients included national product manufacturers and a major California utility company. In 1994, Ms. Dean returned to Denver as Of Counsel to Pryor, Carney and Johnson, P.C. During this time, Ms. Dean began to shift her focus to the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury, insurance and commercial disputes. Subsequent to the dissolution of Pryor, Carney and Johnson, Ms. Dean practiced as Of Counsel with W. Randolph Barnhart where she turned her practice exclusively to representation of plaintiffs.
Ms. Dean joined The Gold Law Firm in the fall of 2013 where her practice involves plaintiff’s personal injury, premises liability and insurance related work. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado and Boulder Bar Associations and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
