Posted on August 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

A Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) worker was struck by a vehicle and remains in critical condition at St. Anthony's hospital in Denver. Sixty-four year old David Wright was in the area directing traffic from a previous accident when he was struck by a silver vehicle and severely injured. The incident occurred off of Westbound I-70 according to Denver Channel 7 News. Wright had gone into the center lane of I-70 to collect some debris when he was hit by the car. Wright suffered major head trauma and received several broken bones. He is reported to survive all of his injuries, yet still remains in the hospital.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 150,000 construction workers are injured on the job every year. Roughly one out of every ten workers will become injured while at work, sustaining injuries that can range from broken bones and abrasions to more serious head trauma.
