The Aurora Police Department suspects that a high rate of speed was a major factor in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Aurora on Thursday night.
According to the APD, a Lexus SUV headed north on South Parker Road, attempted to turn east onto Peoria Street, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole.
The single occupant of the vehicle, an adult male whose identity has not yet been released, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police believe that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, based on eyewitness reports and physical evidence. APD is continuing to investigate, and they ask that anyone with any further information call (720) 913-7867.
