A fatal single-vehicle crash in Aurora involving a moving truck, resulted in one fatality on Monday morning.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:15 a.m. on the morning of July 5th at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Interstate 225, when a 20-foot moving truck hauling a car trailer with a car on it, went off of Colfax Avenue and collided with an I-225 overpass abutment.
The truck continued to travel for about 50 feet until it struck a sign pole, seriously injuring the driver, who had to be taken to the hospital. Sadly, the driver later passed away.
Police suspect that the driver may have suffered a medical incident before this tragic crash occurred, and are continuing to investigate. It is not believed at this time that intoxication or speed played a role in this crash.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased.
