A suspected intoxicated driver struck a Denver police officer with their vehicle last Friday night, before leaving the scene of the crash.
According to the Denver Police Department, the crash occurred on southbound Interstate 25 near the intersection with West Colfax Avenue, late on the night of November 12th.
Apparently, the police officer was investigating an earlier crash, when they were collided into by the driver, who then left the scene, making this a hit-and-run collision.
The driver was shortly apprehended by the police, and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The police officer was taken to the hospital for treatment, and is now in stable condition.
Traffic in the area was restricted for a period of time after this crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officer, and we hope for a fast and complete recovery.
