A serious crash on Highway 85, has police searching for a driver involved who fled on foot after the crash.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on the afternoon of August 30th, close to where Highway 85 intersects with Lakeside Drive.
Apparently, a northbound SUV was speeding down 85 when it was forced to swerve into the oncoming lanes of traffic, to avoid crashing into a school bus that was turning on to Lakeside Drive.
The SUV crashed head-on into a Toyota sedan driven by a 53-year-old Peyton male, who was severely injured in the crash and had to be taken to the hospital.
The SUV driver fled the scene of the crash on foot, leaving behind a 26-year-old female who was minorly injured.
Police are continuing to investigate, and ask that anyone with any information call 303-239-4501.
