A single-vehicle accident on United States Highway 285 in Lakewood, resulted in the crashed vehicle’s engine becoming completely separated from the rest of the vehicle, last Sunday morning.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the crash occurred around 5 a.m. on the morning of May 30th on the Kipling overpass.
The engine of the vehicle was apparently about 200 feet away from the vehicle after the crash, and the driver had to be extracted by emergency response crews.
The driver was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition as a result of the crash. The police are continuing to investigate this accident.
