A collision between a motor vehicle and a bicyclist on Thursday afternoon, resulted in one fatality.
According to the Boulder Police Department, the crash occurred around 3 p.m. on the afternoon of May 20th, and took place at the intersection of South Boulder Road and Manhattan Drive.
Apparently, a driver traveling south on Boulder Road struck a cyclist who was in the intersection with Manhattan Drive.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital, but was later pronounced deceased. The driver remained on the scene and apparently cooperated with the police.
South Boulder Road was shut down for multiple hours between Foothills Parkway and 55th Street after the crash. Police are still investigating, and ask that anyone with any information call (303) 441-3333.
At this time, it is believed that the bicyclist rode into traffic before the crash, but investigators are still trying to piece together what exactly happened in this tragic incident.
