A devastating crash on Highway 83 last week resulted in two fatalities and multiple people being seriously injured.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, 20-year-old Denver male, Daihauonzadre Brooks-Jones, is suspected of stealing a bus in Aurora on the morning of November 5th, and hours later causing a horrific crash on Highway 83.
Brook-Jones was apparently wanted by the police on sexual assault charges, when he stole the vehicle, a fairly small passenger bus, around 9:30 a.m.
Around 11 a.m. Brook-Jones crashed into two vehicles, killing two people at the time, and seriously injuring four others, two of whom were children.
Brooks-Jones was seriously injured in the crash, and was taken to the hospital. Police believe that intoxication and excessive speed were factors in the collision.
One of the men killed in the accident, was the uncle of a woman named Jenny Esparza. Sadly their family were headed to the Denver International Airport to go to a funeral in California when this horrible crash occurred.
Police are still investigating this incident, and they ask that anyone with information call 719-544-2424.
