A tragic and fatal collision outside of Pueblo on Thursday night, resulted in one death and serious injuries for another person involved.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the evening of September 2nd.
Apparently, a westbound Audi was traveling in the oncoming lane of traffic on Highway 50, when it crashed head-on into a Nissan Altima.
A 64-year-old Avondale man was driving the Altima, and sadly, he passed away at the scene of the crash. A 44-year-old passenger also in that vehicle, was seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital.
Both of the people in the Audi, a 29-year-old driver and a 24-year-old passenger, were uninjured in the crash.
Highway 50 was closed for about four hours as emergency crews processed the scene.
The police are continuing to investigate this terrible crash, and it is suspected that intoxication may have been a factor.
