A fatal hit-and-run collision in Aurora last Tuesday night, has the police searching for the driver of the vehicle involved.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the collision occurred around 11:56 p.m. on the night of September 7th, at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and North Akron Street.
Apparently, a 35-year-old man was struck while crossing East Colfax Avenue heading north, by what has been described as a white SUV or minivan, causing a significant head injury.
The vehicle, which police say was possibly being accompanied by a white sedan with dark tinted windows, then left the scene, turning this into a hit-and-run.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, and was apparently in critical condition. Sadly, the following day, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The police are continuing to investigate and are attempting to identify the drivers involved. They ask that anyone with any information call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for an award.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
