A motorcyclist was involved in a fatal crash in Summit County on June 1st. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident occurred around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon south of Copper Mountain.
Apparently, a Ford Pickup and Harley Davidson motorcycle were both traveling North on Highway 91. The Ford slowed to take a left turn, right as the motorcycle attempted to pass on the left. The motorcycle collided into the driver side of the vehicle.
Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 45-year-old male from Eagle County, died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Ford was uninjured.
Highway 91 was closed for multiple hours in both directions while emergency crews cleared the scene and police investigated. It is believed at this point in time that speeding and reckless driving played a factor in this accident.
