A tragic fatal motorcycle collision in Frederick, resulted in the passing of a man and his daughter, last Tuesday evening.
According to the Frederick Police Department, the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the evening of September 21st, on Colorado Boulevard in north Frederick close to the Bella Rosa Golf Course.
Apparently, 54-year-old male, Michael Scott Sluman, and his 24-year-old daughter, Riley Mae Sluman, were traveling north on a Harley Davidson on Colorado Boulevard, when they were struck from behind by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old woman.
Both vehicles then veered into the oncoming lane of traffic, with the pickup then going into a ditch and becoming airborne.
Tragically, Riley Mae passed away at the scene of the collision. Her father was taken to the hospital, but later also passed away. The driver of the pickup was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police at this time believe that alcohol may have played a role in this terrible tragedy. Traffic in the area was restricted for multiple hours after the crash, and the police are continuing to investigate.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased.
