Police in Adams County are searching for a hit-and-run suspect allegedly responsible for crashing into multiple vehicles in Thornton early on the morning of November 13th.
According to the Thornton Police Department, around 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, police officers approached a red Ford F-350 that was idling in the middle of Josephine Street.
The driver, who had been asleep in the apparently stolen vehicle, woke up as the police approached, quickly reversed the car, colliding with a police vehicle in the process.
The driver continued to reverse at a high rate of speed, going on to crash into two more vehicles, these belonging to civilians, dragging those vehicles for a period of time.
Backing up until they reached York Street, the driver was then able to evade the police and drive away.
The vehicle was spotted later on Interstate 25, and after being pursued by the police, it went off the road, and the driver fled the scene on foot. Police are continuing to search for this suspect.
