An intoxicated driver, traveling the wrong direction on the Thornton Parkway, crashed into two Thornton Police Department patrol cars, last Thursday night.
According to the Thornton Police Department, the collision happened around 10 p.m. close to the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Thornton Parkway.
Apparently, an intoxicated driver in an SUV was heading west on the eastbound lanes of the Parkway, when they crashed into two patrol cars turning onto the road from Civic Center Drive.
The SUV driver was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment, and the police officers also suffered injuries, although thankfully they were minor.
The parkway was closed for a period of time after the crash, and police are continuing to investigate this incident.
