The Lakewood Police Department has arrested 34-year-old Joshua Mayo in connection with a New Year’s Eve DUI hit-and-run collision that injured multiple people last week.
According to the police, the collision occurred near the Belmar region at the intersection of South Vance Street and West Alameda Avenue, when Mayo ran a red light and crashed into another car, injuring multiple passengers in that vehicle.
Mayo apparently attempted to flee the scene after the collision, but was stopped by people who were present on the scene at the time.
Mayo is facing multiple charges including DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and vehicular assault. Police are asking that anyone with information call 303-763-6800.
