A 38-year-old Las Animas man crashed into a Police SUV on Wednesday morning.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred at the intersection of 5th Street and Harriett Avenue in East La Junta, when Christopher Haugen ignored a stop sign and crashed into a La Junta Police Department vehicle.
A police lieutenant named Mitchell Zgorzynski, was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the collision, and both he and Haugen were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Haugen is currently facing charges of reckless driving, and may be facing a DUI charge as well, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
