A motorcyclist was fatally injured in Aurora last Thursday afternoon, close to the intersection of Truckee Street and Yale Avenue.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the collision occurred around 1:15 p.m. on the afternoon of May 6th, when a male motorcyclist attempted to pass a vehicle in the oncoming lane of traffic.
Apparently, the motorcyclist was heading north on Ventura Street when they attempted to pass a vehicle at a sharp turn onto Yale Avenue, and were struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Sadly, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, and they were injured badly enough that they needed to be taken to the hospital where they later passed away. The vehicle that was involved stayed on the scene and cooperated with the police.
Police are continuing to investigate this incident, and ask that anyone with any information call 303-739-6000.
