A Fort Collins accident on Friday involving a driver that police believe was under the influence of drugs at the time, resulted in the fatality of one construction worker, and three others being seriously injured.
According to the Fort Collins Police Services, the four workers were working close to the intersection of Azalea Drive and Prospect Road in northwest Fort Collins around 10 a.m. on June 26th.
52-year-old Laramie, Wyoming resident Scott Duwaldt, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Prospect Road when he apparently crossed the incoming traffic lane, drove out of the intersection and hit the four construction workers.
Three of the workers were taken to the hospital and sadly, one worker died at the scene of the crash. Duwaldt was uninjured in the collision.
Prospect Road was closed for over four hours as police investigated.
Duwaldt has been arrested and is facing charges. Police are asking that anyone with any information about this crash call (970) 416-2224.
