A semi crashed into a bridge in Lakewood and then drove away, last Thursday morning.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Interstate 70 at Denver West Parkway.
Apparently, a semi hauling heavy equipment crashed into an overpass bridge causing an unspecified amount of damage, and then left the scene.
Traffic in the area was heavily restricted after the collision, as technicians checked the structural integrity of the bridge, causing major backups during the regular morning commute.
Police are continuing to search for the truck driver, and ask that anyone with any information contact them immediately.
