A three-vehicle accident on Erie Parkway Tuesday afternoon resulted in one person being seriously injured.
Around 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of January 7th at the intersection of Erie Parkway and Weld County Road 7, three vehicles, including a garbage truck, collided with each other, according to an Erie Police Department spokesperson.
The person injured was apparently pinned in their vehicle and had to be rescued before being taken to the hospital. At the time of this writing, it is unknown how many other people were involved and whether or not they suffered any minor injuries.
The garbage truck flipped over spilling a large amount of garbage onto the road, which was afterwards cleaned up with the help of a local trash service company. The incident is still being investigated, and Erie Parkway was closed for almost six hours after the accident.
