Regional Transportation District equipment at the Aurora Metro Station was severely damaged when a vehicle crashed into it on Thursday morning.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the collision happened around 6:00 a.m. on the morning of May 20th, when a vehicle apparently crashed into a crossing mast at the intersection of Abilene Street and 2nd Avenue.
Two stations we’re temporarily affected by the crash, the Aurora Metro Center Station and the 2nd Avenue and Abilene Station, and the R Line was disabled for about an hour and a half.
The crossing mast is expected to be replaced by this afternoon, and there is no word as of the time of this writing, whether or not anyone was injured in this collision.
