A 6-year-old child was seriously injured in a car accident at Havana and Martin Luther King, according to CBS Denver. The accident involved a Mustang and a van during the morning commute on Thursday; the child had to be rushed to the hospital. Police are investigating exactly how the accident occurred, and which driver was at fault, while doctors work to help the child recover from those injuries. The busy intersection near the Stapleton neighborhood was closed for roughly two hours during the investigation. There is no word on the child’s status, or whether the at-fault driver was the driver of the car or the van.
Has your child been seriously injured in a Colorado car wreck? Speak with an experienced Denver auto accident lawyer today to discuss your options.
Over 1.5 million people are injured in car crashes each year, according to the United States Department of Transportation. Many of these injuries are minor, and can be treated at the scene, without a hospital visit. Unfortunately, many of these injuries are much more serious, with some of them resulting in permanent damage to the brain, resulting in a lifetime of medical bills. In many cases, the medical bills incurred far exceed the limits of auto insurance policies, creating a tremendous financial hardship for someone who may have done nothing wrong except to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. People who are seriously injured by the negligence of other drivers in accidents may be entitled to compensation for these expenses.
