1 dead and 3 injured in crash in Prowers County on a Sunday. The crash happened on Highway 50 Prowers County Road 7, at around 9 p.m on Sunday.

According to the Kiowa County Sheriff's Office, the collision involved a 2013 Dodge Challenger, with three passengers, and a Kiowa County Sheriff's patrol.

The sheriff's office stated that the driver of the patrol was responding to another car accident, and had the lights and siren on.

What caused the crash was the patrol vehicle impacting the Challenger's left side, causing the two vehicles to spin counter-clockwise.

The driver of the Challenger, a 65-year-old man, and a 62-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat, were immediately taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, an 89-year-old woman, who was riding in the backseat of the Challenger, died in the crash.

The driver of the patrol suffered moderate injuries. there's no more information as of the time of this writing about the injured.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased and the injured.
