A suspected drunk driver drove for nearly six miles the wrong way on I-25 before colliding with another vehicle and killing a woman. According to the Denver Post, the incident started at around 11p.m. Monday night when 35-year-old Elizabeth Long started driving south in the northbound lanes of I-25 at 104th Avenue. Authorities say Long struck at least one vehicle at Thornton Parkway before colliding with a vehicle at 58th Avenue and killing the passenger. Long was booked into the Adams County Jail on multiple charges stemming from the accident.

In Colorado, DUI and impaired offenses are misdemeanors; injury-related DUI offenses are class 4 felonies. According to Alcoholalert.Com, between 2000 and 2008 there were 5,703 total traffic fatalities in the state of Colorado with 2,267 of those fatalities being alcohol related.

Time is crucial. In the state of Colorado, you have only 3 years after an automobile accident to file a claim. This is known as the statute of limitations. If your injuries were the result of an accident with a government vehicle or public transportation, you may have even less time to file a claim and receive compensation for your injuries.

Toyota Recalls Automobiles over Sticking Accelerator

Posted on January 15, 2010 in Uncategorized

Sales of 8 Toyota models voluntarily stopped.

Irv Miller, group vice president for Toyota Motor Sales, said in a press release "Our investigation indicates that there is a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may, in rare instances, mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position."

The recall affects roughly 2.3 million Toyota vehicles. The following Toyota models have been included in the recall and voluntary suspension of sales:

. 2009-10 RAV4. 2009-10 Corolla. 2009-10 Matrix. 2005-10 Avalon. 2007-10 Camry. 2010 Highlander. 2007-10 Tundra. 2008-10 Sequoia

Toyota suggests that if you believe your vehicle is suffering from a sticking acceleration pedal, you should drive the Toyota vehicle to the nearest safe location, shut the engine shut off and contact a Toyota dealer for assistance.

If you were the driver or passenger of any of these Toyota models or were involved in an accident with any of these Toyota models, a sticking accelerator pedal may be to blame.
