In a Car Accident Settlement, How are TBIs Calculated?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 2.87 million people in the United States suffer from some form of brain injury. Around 50,000 will die due to their injuries, and another 80,000 will experience long-term disability.
Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can occur due to various causes, including falls, car accidents, and sports-related activities. In particular, traffic accidents, such as motorcycle crashes and bicycle accidents, can result in life-threatening injuries, especially if victims are not wearing a helmet.
The effects of brain injuries can be devastating. Many survivors experience lifelong disabilities such as paralysis, cognitive impairments, and personality changes. These disabilities can make it difficult or impossible for survivors to live independently or hold down a job.
Fortunately, there are many resources available to help survivors and their families cope with the challenges of brain injury. Many people can lead full and productive lives despite their injuries with the proper support.

Bicycle accidents are more likely to occur in these Denver neighborhoods:

How to Talk to Your Teen About Safe Driving
The 100 Deadliest Days of Summer are rapidly approaching for teen drivers. The 100 deadliest days of summer are a period of time when teen drivers are more likely to be involved in fatal car accidents. This period typically runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During this time, most teens are out of school and have more free time to drive. This increases the risk of serious and deadly car crashes.
There are a number of factors that contribute to the increased risk of accidents during the 100 deadliest days of summer. One is that inexperienced drivers tend to take more risks behind the wheel, such as speeding or driving while distracted. Additionally, there are more cars on the road during summer vacation, which can lead to congested traffic and an increased chance of accidents.
To help keep teens safe on the roads this summer, parents and guardians should encourage them to drive safely and follow the rules of the road. Additionally, teens should be aware of their own driving abilities and limitations and know when to stop driving if they are feeling fatigued or distracted.

What is Subrogation in an Injury Case?
If you suffered an injury in a car accident in Denver, you may wonder who ultimately pays for your injuries and damages. After a car accident, your health insurance company might bear the burden of paying for your medical bills while you are in the hospital.
However, if the accident was not your fault, they will not want to bear this burden alone. If they find out that you received money in an injury settlement, they will want their cut. This is where subrogation comes into play.
Subrogation is a legal process where one party stands in the place of another party to assert a legal claim or right. In the context of an injury case, this means that if you are injured in a car accident and your insurance company pays for your medical bills, they may then seek reimbursement from the at-fault driver's insurance company through subrogation.
In some cases, this can happen even if you have not yet settled your personal injury case with the at-fault driver.
The purpose of subrogation is to ensure that the party who ultimately bears the responsibility for the damages pays for them. In many cases, this will be the at-fault driver's insurance company. However, there are some situations where subrogation may not be available or may not make sense.
